Figure 1 shows a covered sports field.

The steel structure consists mainly of columns, arch trusses, longitudinal trusses, purlins, and metal roofing sheets.
Longitudinal Roof Trusses
Figure 2 shows a structure sector.

The span s ≅ 30 m, the column spacing b ≅ 15 m, and the arc rise h ≅ 5 m. Figure 3 shows the structure viewed from below.

The arch truss spacing = b/2, and there are five longitudinal trusses (marked by the numbers and yellow background). Figure 4 shows a schematic three-dimensional view of a structure sector.

Longitudinal truss 3 (mid-span) has vertical and diagonal web members, while the remaining longitudinal trusses have only vertical web members.
Why does only longitudinal truss 3 have vertical and diagonal web members?
